In_NovaMusEUm OpenLab.1, 1 July, 2017 – Portugal – Lisbon, Museu Bordalo Pinheiro

The first Open field Workshop at Museu Bordalo Pinheiro – Lisboa took place 1 July 2017, from 16h00 to 18h00. The session had about 12 participants, mostly young people aged 18 to 35 years. This workshop was based on ceramic plate “Mesa Posta”, 1897, by Rafael Bordalo PInheiro. Artists Joana Andrade and Paula Ribeiro organized a session which can be summarized as a dyeing tablecloth workshop with food paints and banquet food arrangement. The event started with a brief visit to Museu Bordalo Pinheiro, particularly focusing of the pieces more closely related with food. After the visit, the participants were asked to paint a tablecloth, with food paints: chocolate, blueberry, saffron, etc. Then, the participants had to create the supports for the banquet food arrangements, using a variety of materials for that purpose. The next step was to make the food arrangements, taking advantage of the diversity of food brought by the workshop organizers. Finally, it was time to display the food arrangements – and to taste these ephemeral works of art & food.                 Save Save Save Save
